Friday Freebie: Theater Program Template

For the past few summers I have had the wonderful opportunity to take photos at a local summer theater conservatory for kids.  It was one of the highlights of my summer because the young actors were so incredibly talented and the songs from their musical, "Free to Be You and Me" resonated all day long while I edited my photos.

As a fun way to capture their head-shots I created this template inspired by the Playbills you get from a Broadway show.  In my template I inserted a head-shot or stage photo of each child and added that to their digital album.  For an aspiring actor it is a great wall display for them to dream and "picture" their future in the theater.

For a free download of either a 5x7 or 8x10 Theater Template, link HERE.  NOTE, you will need to LIKE my Facebook page, but doing so also provides a number of other popular templates that I've created.  [NOTE: This template was inspired by the famous "PLAYBILL" design.  The "Playbill" Logo is tradmarked and copyrighted]

NOTE, you do need to have some Photoshop experience plus knowledge of clipping masks.  If you're not familiar with how to use a clipping mask which you will need to know for this free template, check out one of our favorite blogs, The Coffee Shop Blog by Rita.  The link will walk you through an explanation on how to use a clipping mask (it's easy, believe me).

If you have an aspiring actor, enjoy this template and on with the show!

New Texture to Check Out by Kim Klassen

I am a "frequent downloader," if there is such a thing, over at Kim Klassen's Cafe.   This week she has a cool "Fall-in" texture to try.  I used it below in a photo I took of some beautiful Japanese maple leaves.  I think the Japanese maple is my favorite tree, -next would be the Magnolia.

So check it out, and head on over to Kim Klassen's Cafe to download this texture yourself.  And see the wonderful array of tutorials and other textures she has to share or purchase.  To be sure I don't miss any I subscribe to her blog to be alerted to her many wonderful treats.

We're a Dot Com!

After nearly 4 years of blogging my business partner and I have finally taken the plunge and purchased the domain name for both of our blogs.  Our new home is http://www.momswhoclick.com on this site, and our sister blog, about parenting, family living, product and entertainment, can be found at http://www.parentgrapevine.com.

Why did we take the plunge?  First of all, if it weren't for my partner, I would not have checked out the cost to claim a domain for ourselves.  But with some digging, she found that for under $10 a year we can buy our brand and DOT COM our blog.  It was simple.  We used GODADDY, who was super to work with.  We would recommend them to anyone with a blog or website.

So take a quick coffee or tea break and check us out.  Be on the lookout for our Holiday Gift Guide around the Thanksgiving Holiday season.  Come click with us at both blogs!
