Another Animated GIF Using Photoshop: White Tail Kite in Flight

I took a series of images of a White Tail Kite flying behind our home.  I put them together in an animated GIF using Photoshop.

My daughter discovered that we have a White-Tail Kite (sort of like a hawk, this is a raptor bird that seeks its prey like mice and lizards) behind our backyard.  I saw them circling the other day but did not think about where it lives.  Turns out it is right behind our house.  I love to watch it with it's mate as it builds a nest.  Below I caught a photo of one with a twig in its beak ready to build.

Wordless Wednesday--Molly Gif

My son wanted me to take some photos of our new puppy, Molly, with his football so that he could show his friend just how small she is.  Getting her to cooperate and sit still was no easy task.  I had my camera on high speed continuous and caught these images which made for a good animated gif.

Don't look at it too long, or you'll get dizzy.  I realize (once again) that when making gifs, you really need to have your camera on a tripod, for even the slightest movement is magnified.

How to Make an Animated Gif

Making an animated gif is easier than you think and is a fun way to showcase a sequence of photos.   A great site to use which does not require any knowledge of Photoshop is Makeagif.  Just upload your photos and it creates the animation for you.  Super simple and free!

I made the one above in Photoshop Elements using layers and you can find a basic tutorial here.   These photos were taken at our neighborhood block party that we had over the weekend.  If I did it all over again, I would have my camera on a tripod to avoid the shake......are you getting dizzy yet?
