After discovering one of my own photos ripped off and used by someone on Twitter (quite by accident) I realized the importance of what I post and watermarking my images. I discovered one of the best tutorials by Darlene of "Her View" on how to create a beautiful transparent watermark using your own logo in both Photoshop and Lightroom.
Check out her photography-filled-site packed with interviews, tutorials and awesome tips and tricks. If you sign up for her email updates you will receive the free ebook "Ten Photography Challenges to Improve Your Photography" - the link takes you to her 'about' page where you can fill out the form to subscribe.
Herewith is her video tutorial to create a beautiful transparent watermark:

ReplyDeleteHi Viv - yes, it is so thorough and explains how to do this in both Photoshop and Lightroom!
DeleteI think initially I would be flattered if someone stole one of my photos and then I would be mad! Watermarking is definitely a good idea and I think they look nice if done right! Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeletehi Julie - I didn't know what to think. It was sort of an invasion of privacy and feeling that our images are our property. But this tutorial is so thorough for both PS and LR. Please check it out, and Darlene's site!
