Wordless Wednesday-The Nutcracker
by: Kristina
Ok, I'm going to have to include a few words here about this photo.......
It was taken last week when I attended the Nutcracker with my daughter. It was a wonderful performance and my daughter totally loved it. We went to see the Nutcracker when she was three in San Francisco and throughout the show she kept asking me "Why isn't anyone speaking." At three, she actually lasted through the whole performance but there was a fair amount of complaining.
However, now as a 12 year old, she was completely mesmerized. Her questions to me this time were, "Why didn't I continue with ballet?" (answer: because you didn't really like it) and "Did I ever perform in anything like this?" (answer: not unless you count the school recital of "You are my sunshine.")
Anyway, it was a great evening and a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season.
The photo was taken with my new Canon 50mm Compact Macro (a little early Christmas gift to myself). And so far, I'm loving it! I can't wait to play with it more. We have yet to put up our Christmas tree, but as soon as we do I'm going to be taking all kinds of ornament close up shots. Stay tuned for more images taken with my early Christmas gift........
