Photoshop Actions--So Glad I Found Them!

While I have both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements 8, I must admit that I rarely use them.  I tend to edit photos using  simple, yet effective iPhoto.  However, I made the wonderful discovery last week of actions.

I had no idea that so many photographers use actions to give their photos pizazz.  If you are not familiar with actions (as I was just days ago), actions are a series of editing commands used to create an effect in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.  They are saved as templates that can be imported into the photo effects or action tabs.

Editing photos can be time consuming and actions can speed up the process with just one click.  If you are new to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, using actions is an easy way to create amazing effects without spending hours trying to figure it out on your own.

There are many websites and blogs that offer free actions and just as many that sell them. Two of my new favorites are Coffee Shop where photo enthusiast Rita offers dozens of free actions and Flora Bella Collection where Shana sells beautiful actions at affordable prices.

Anyway, check out these before and after photos where I used Soft Urban Action by Flora Bella.

Pretty cool, eh?  I have been having so much fun playing with these actions.  I love how they enhance my photos with just a click.  Here's one more...(They are so addictive)!  Give them a try and let us know what you think or send us a before and after photo and we will post it!
